Grammar Rant: Stop Making Up Words!
Irregardless of What You Think, The Reoccurrence of Made Up Words Is Not Okay
What’s wrong with the above sentence? If you said, “Absolutely nothing, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it,” then you and I have a problem.
If you said, “Irregardless is not a word, you dolt!” you’re right. If you said, “Since when is reoccurrence proper English?” you would also be correct.
The correct words are “regardless” and “recurrence.” That’s it. There’s no more to say.
